The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program helps train ordinary citizens to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. When emergencies occur, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community. The goal and mission of the Franklin County Community Emergency Response Team is to organize and support CERT members countywide so they are ready to respond when needed and to provide continuing education to members so they are better prepared to respond. Monthly meetings are open to the public. To join the team you must first complete the basic series of CERT classes. These classes are open to the public and are FREE of charge. See the link to CERT Classes for more information. We Need You If you live in Franklin County and are CERT trained or want to be CERT trained, we need you. Please come to the next meeting. |
